The NUMBER ONE skill you can use in conversations with clients to
Keep them talking
Figure out why they are really doing something
What pressure they might be facing to perform
This skill is called mirroring and it's very easy to learn
All you do is repeat the last 4-5 words that a client just said with a curious tone or upwards inflection
Kinda like you're this guy 🤔
Example:
Client: "We need to have FB ads up and running by the end of Q3"
You: "End of Q3? 🤔"
Client: "Yeah last week our boss said that he wants to start expanding into social for the holiday season"
You: "For the holiday season? 🤔"
Client: "Yeah we are running a big Black Friday Campaign and a lot is going to be centered around Facebook".
Right there you discovered
- They have pressure from their boss to start moving on FB ads
- There's a big campaign you can help them out with.
This also builds rapport and shows your listening to a customer!
Beware: Don't use this too much - you'll come off as questioning everything they say.
